Personal Growth: Stop Drifting and Start Building Your Life
SUNFISH ARE THE WORLD’S MOST USELESS AND DUMBEST ANIMALS.
Here is why!
First off, sunfish can’t swim like normal fish since they don’t even have a full tail. They aimlessly bob around in the water, relying on their fins to guide them to get around. This makes them super easy targets for predators, and they end up with bites taken out of them.
But since sunfish are full of bones and covered in mucus predators will just spit the pieces out.
Sunfish also have brains the size of walnuts — kinda like Facebookers with locked accounts.
They do feel pain but they really don’t even understand what’s happening to them. Basically the survival instincts of a jelly bean.

Even worse, sunfish are covered in parasites. These parasites feed off their skin, making their lives even more miserable. They try to float to the surface to let the sun’s rays kill the parasites or wait for the birds to peck them off but it won’t help much.
Even when fishermen catch them they throw them back since they are useless.
But the worst part is what they eat. They can’t even close their mouths so they just float around waiting for something to come in like plankton or jellyfish.
They have to consume tons of jellyfish just to get enough energy to survive, leading to a pretty bad diet. The only reason they haven’t gone extinct yet is because a female sunfish will lay 300 million eggs.
An ocean full of dumb, useless, mindless blobs.
And this is where the sunfish stops being a fish… and starts being a mirror.
Because the world is also full of grown humans who don’t hunt opportunity, don’t build skills, don’t defend values, don’t explore potential — they just float and consume whatever drifts into their mouth.
No direction.
No mission.
No craft.
No discipline.
Just bodies carried by currents they didn’t choose: algorithms, trends, addictions, lust, comfort, outrage, and fear.
They wake up and reach for a screen.
They work jobs they hate and spend money they don’t have.
They numb themselves with porn, scrolling, alcohol, betting, gossip, and fantasies of a life they will never build.
They don’t move toward opportunity.
They wait for opportunity to bump into them.
Just like the sunfish.
No teeth to tear through reality.
No spine to handle pressure.
No tail to drive forward.
Only consumption.
Entertainment.
Validation.
Pleasure.
Noise.
And parasites love drifting bodies.
Laziness becomes a parasite.
Lust becomes a parasite.
Victimhood becomes a parasite.
Excuses become a parasite.
Bitterness becomes a parasite.
They feed all day and grow weaker.
The more they consume, the less alive they feel.
So they surface — not to heal, but to complain.

They blame women.
They blame society.
They blame the government.
They blame successful people.
They blame “the system.”
Anything but the habits.
Anything but the mirror.
And just like the sunfish covered in parasites, people try to clean them from the outside.
Motivational videos.
Quick-money schemes.
Empty quotes.
Weekend hype.
Birds pecking at a body that refuses to move.
Nothing changes, because the real issue isn’t information.
It’s locomotion.
They don’t go anywhere.
No training.
No long-term plan.
No skill building.
No sacrifice.
No discomfort.
Only reproduction of the same day, copied and pasted until years disappear.

This is how lives get ruined quietly.
Not by catastrophe.
By drift.
Not by one bad decision.
By ten thousand tiny acts of avoidance.
And the most dangerous part?
Drifting feels safe.
No risk of failure if you never aim.
No rejection if you never approach.
No humiliation if you never try.
No responsibility if you never lead.
But safety rots.
Dreams decay.
Potential starves.
Respect evaporates.
Time gets eaten alive.
Until one day a person looks up and realizes decades are gone… and there is no territory, no legacy, no craft, no strong body, no disciplined mind.
Just stories about what “could have been.”
The sunfish doesn’t know it’s wasting its existence.
A human does.
And that’s what makes it tragic.
Because humans are not built to float.
They are built to pursue, build, defend, explore, master, and create.
When those drives are buried, the psyche collapses inward.
Depression rises.
Anger leaks.
Addictions multiply.
Relationships rot.
Families fracture.
Not because the world is cruel —
but because direction was never chosen.
Currents were.
And currents don’t care where they take you.
They only care that you don’t resist.
