4K Monitor Recommendations and What to Consider
Noticed there are a lot of posts looking for 4k monitors. My advice is not to sweat differences between 144hz, 165hz etc. 240 Hz is a bigger deal but even then, make sure you have the hardware to take advantage of gaming console for PS vs Xbox. For photo editing/productivity, high refresh rate can help with eye strain a little, but definitely better to prioritize color accuracy in those cases. 4k is best at 32″ and above. 27″/28″ is acceptable too.

- LG 27GR95QE-B: OLED, 240hz, .3ms, Just a beast of a monitor.
Ultrawide 1440p 144hz
- LG 34GP83-AB: IPS, one of the favorite on reddit. If you have extra budget, see Samsung Odyssey G9 G95SC to get 49 in 240hz, 2nd gen OLED or Alienware AW3423DWF for 34″ OLED, 175hz.
What to consider while purchasing Gaming Monitor:
- Size: When it comes to 4K monitors, size matters. The ideal size for a 4K monitor is 32 inches or larger to fully experience the benefits of the high resolution.
- Monitors that are 27 or 28 inches can also be used, but you may not notice the full benefits of 4K at smaller sizes.
- Refresh Rate: This measures how many times the image on your screen refreshes per second, usually measured in Hertz (Hz).
- For most people, the difference between 144Hz and 165Hz is negligible. Even 240Hz is only a big deal if you have the hardware to support it.
- If you’re into photo editing or productivity tasks, focus more on color accuracy than refresh rates.
- Color Accuracy: This refers to how well a monitor can display colors accurately and consistently across the screen.
- For those doing tasks where color is important, make sure the monitor has good color accuracy.
